Liberation Scholarship Program
A one-off scholarship programme for Canadian students.
The Liberation Scholarship Program is a scholarship programme on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands. In 2015 and 2016 the programme is expected to disburse 70 scholarships.
A gift to Canada
The Liberation Scholarship Program is a symbolic gift to Canada as a token of appreciation for the sacrifices the country has made to liberate the Netherlands 70 years ago.
The scholarships are funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), Dutch companies in Canada and 24 Dutch higher education institutions.
The programme will further strengthen existing academic ties between both countries and increase and promote the international mobility of Canadian students. Finally, the programme will promote the Netherlands as a study destination.
EP-Nuffic manages the programme and is responsible for communications, PR and the alumni network.
A total of 24 Dutch higher education institutions take part in the Liberation Scholarship Program.
